The son of a carpenter, Gorka Hierro fell in love with wood carving at a young age, and he regularly works with it to create his sculptures. She bares her body and soul in the creative moment to explore the hidden beauty in every tree. He uses woods that come from sustainable forests as we can see in ‘Mikelatz’, a wonderful abstract piece, belonging to the ‘Basque mythology’ collection, in which Hierro has meticulously followed the traditional methods of carving in plane tree wood.
